Sabine and Gaiostopher's elegant, but fun filled August wedding...

Above is a selection of some of my favourite images from Sabine and Gaiostopher's August wedding. It's a real pleasure to capture a wedding day when you see how happy the couple are together, excited to be taking their vows, and they show their joy openly -Gaiostopher especially was joking around, dancing and showing his moves throughout the day, haha...

The day started with capturing Sabine getting ready at her parents' home. She had chosen a beautiful lace wedding gown, pretty shoes to match and already had her hair up done up in a chic up do by the time I arrived. As a wedding photographer I photograph all the usual details; the bouquet and other flowers, the dress and its lace, the shoes etc. but am always happy to take client's requests and capture any other special mementos they may have; jewellery the bride will wear, something she may have borrowed for the day, love notes and cards. Sabine had special make up and perfume she bought for the occasion and also wanted photos of her engagement ring and her and her grandfather's handkerchiefs. It's these little details that make every wedding unique and are very personal and meaningful to the couple.

Sabine had mentioned during our initial wedding photography consultation that she really liked candid, reportage style portraits so I "papped" quite a few of the guests outside the registry office after the wedding ceremony, between courses of the wedding breakfast (not when anyone was eating of course), during the speeches and later mingling at the evening reception. These were mixed in with a few more formal portraits early on in the day of Sabine and her parents with and without the car, group shots and cutting the cake.

It felt like quite an international day; there were guests from the UK, Germany and all the way from Gambia. The wedding ceremony took place at the registry office at the Town Hall and the reception at the Golf & Country Club. An elegant black and white colour theme for the day pulled together the cake, flowers, table decorations and extended to the dress code for the guests. All in all it was a very enjoyable day and an honour to be part of :)
